Dateline NBC Pre-Empted January 9–10, 2026 for U.S. Figure Skating Championships
NBC has pre-empted Dateline NBC on both Friday, January 9, and Saturday, January 10, 2026, to broadcast live coverage of the 2026 U.S. Winter Olympic Trials: U.S. Figure Skating Championships. The events will air from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM ET both nights, live from the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri.
On Friday night, the focus is on the Women’s Free Skate and Pairs Free Skate. The women’s field features top contenders Alysa Liu and Amber Glenn, while the pairs competition is headlined by reigning national champions Alisa Efimova and Misha Mitrofanov.
On Saturday, the spotlight shifts to the Men’s Free Skate and Free Dance. Ilia Malinin, the three-time defending U.S. champion, returns to defend his title, and Olympic veterans Madison Chock and Evan Bates aim to qualify for what would be their fourth Olympic Games.
These broadcasts serve as part of the selection process for Team USA ahead of the 2026 Winter Olympics, making the stakes particularly high for all athletes involved. Regular Dateline NBC programming is expected to resume the following week.
